GORDON HOPKINS & CINDY COOK
Born and raised in Bridgewater, Gordon has been navigating the LaHave river for over 40 years, long before he could drive a car. Cindy Cook, a Lunenburg native, grew up waiting on the front harbour docks, feet dangling over the edge, for the deep sea fishing vessels to return many friends’ fathers and brothers. When they’re not hosting vacationers, Gordon is self-employed working in the construction inspection industry, and Cindy is a Student Affairs professional with the Nova Scotia Community College.
Cindy and Gordon met through mutual friends in 2008 and eventually settled on their dream property on the Lahave River. This property would prove to be the perfect place to fulfill Gordon’s dream to build a floating cottage vacation rental business. After two years of construction, the first cottage, Ketch Cottage, was launched. Cindy and Gordon's home is located on the same property as Ketch Cottage so, while they're respectful of guest privacy, you can easily reach them by phone, text, or email whenever you have a question or concern.
